I just mean that people argue about Huawei and other China-related stories quite fiercely whenever they come up (often too fiercely: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html). 'Groupthink' is refuted by a quick glance into any such thread.

Actually though, the word 'groupthink' usually isn't about anything other than oneself. It's a form of internet preening: I the noble freethinker, towering above the deluded masses in whose midst I deign to glide. In other words, a middlebrow 'sheeple'. (Sorry if that feels like I'm picking on you personally; I don't mean to.)
