This is true. I'm crawling with 2 Mbps on Airtel for the past 3-4 months. Jio has always been at 0.8-0.9 Mbps. Vodafone has similar issues.

Indian 4G rarely gives the 40-50 Mbps or more that you can see in other countries



Isn't this just due to the sheer number of users in that area? India is an extremely densely populated country (in the cities at least), and as more and more people get access to cellphones it's just going to get worse. There's only so much bandwidth possible with the frequency bands being used.

Not really true. You can just have smaller cells - many more towers using lower power.

It just costs more to have smaller cells.
