Hormones aren't any better, back in the 60s and 70s 'negroes' were said to be in heat constantly which is why they needed to be paternalistically protected by the nice Alabama state troopers.
It seems to me that if the exact same argument can lead to results that almost everybody agrees is terrible, then there is something wrong with the argument. I don't think it is strawmanning to point that out.
