I know I'm really late to this discussion, but what we really need[1] is the kind of control over our feeds (whether facebook, twitter, insta) that we have over our email inboxes. With email you can set up filters and labels and redirect your mail where ever you want. Or you can just hit the big SPAM button on stuff you never want to see. Why doesn't social media offer this? Especially with twitter, I'd love to follow some people for their tech tweets, as long as I could filter out their trump tweets. It should be super easy to do that, yet none of the social media platforms offer it. Have we been asking for it?
