Learn and do things outside of your domain, for example learn to play an instrument. The mental gymnastic that music requires (which needs both intuition and rational thinking) will teach you to be more creative and to analyze things in a different way.

This is akin to telling an arts major to learn to program.

Personally, I believe it made my thinking much more visual and geometric (or maybe it was all that Legos I played with)
