As another 16+ (2001, not sure which kernel) Linux user let me counter: with Ubuntu there's no reason to wrestle with Linux any more.
Wifi, Bluetooth, HD resolutions, keyboard buttons, printers, everything just seems to work in Ubuntu, and this has been the case for quite a few years now.
