Majority of Hindus have never even seen Ganges. Almost everyone in my state baths twice a day, washes their hands/mouth before and after eating, and we have been using bidets for 15 years at least.
You're going to have to make the connection between being a holy river, so people want to wade or swim in it and being ok with polluting it. If anything, I would think you could get people onboard with not putting their waste into a holy river?
We've banned this account for repeatedly violating the site guidelines. Flamewars are not welcome here, especially not the religious and racial sort, which are poisonous and have no place on HN. Unsubstantive and uncivil comments, which you've posted more than your share of, are also out of line.
