I couldn't agree more. Being a dev who sifts through resumes in a company without a designated HR, I find myself subconsciously search for people who closely resemble me (Not in terms of knowledge/experience. I like to work with people who're better than me) in terms of approach, philosophy and influences.

yeah, doing the thinking through who will be looking at it and tailoring it to their imagined tastes is a great thought.
