Ask HN: Best RSS (Mostly US) News Feeds
2 points by mydpy on Dec 7, 2015 | hide | past | favorite
Ultimately looking for text-based news sources, probably RSS but open to other ideas. Generally looking for daily news, some op-ed is fine, but I need to be able to clearly define political fact versus 'analysis' contrast NPR versus Fox. Also looking for 80% US 20% global news.

Note: I get my tech news from here and Twitter, mostly.

  Current thoughts / Contenders:
   1. NPR: http://www.npr.org/rss/
      Pros: Great news source all-around.
            Superb journalism.
            Lots of original content.
      Cons: Infrequent updates
   2. Reuters: http://www.reuters.com/tools/rss
      Pros: Multiple editions.
            I can tolerate the ads.
            Values neutral.
      Cons: Meh?
   3. BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/help/rss/default.stm
      Pros: Decent global perspective.
            Lots of content.
      Cons: Lots of filtering needed.
            Lots of content.
