We did something similar for all the cloud whitepapers from AWS, Azure, GCP, CloudFlare, and CNCF at https://cloudwhitepapers.withcoherence.com/

These are fun projects!

You might have better outcomes with the API docs and official documentation. Whitepapers tend to have a lot of marketing, may not age gracefully.

Thanks for the perspective!

This looks cool.

How does this work?

We actually open sourced the project - see here https://www.withcoherence.com/post/create-your-langchain-and...

We are excited to introduce our latest project, The Cloud Whitepaper Index, which leverages generative AI to give you an AI-powered Cloud Architecture expert with access to almost 1,000 expert-written whitepapers from AWS, GCP, CloudFlare, Azure, and the CNCF.

Our latest starter repo makes it easy for anyone to build their own GPT-powered AI app using Langchain and Pinecone with Coherence on top of AWS or GCP. This is our second AI starter repo in addition to our OpenAI GPT starter and this time we’re open sourcing the repo we used to launch our GPT-powered Cloud Whitepaper Index.

Google cloud also has Cloud Run and GKE autopilot.

It’s great to see all the amazing tooling being built into this space. Other companies to check out include flightcontrol, architect, quovery, Coherence (withcoherence.com - disclosure that I’m a founder), stacktape, and zeet.

This exact workflow is why we have integrated Cloud IDE with full-stack branch preview (both of which know about database seed/migrations) at Coherence (withcoherence.com). [disclaimer - I’m a cofounder]. You can also integrate other seeding tools like snaplet, mentioned in a sibling comment here, which is an awesome solution to this problem!

Would be happy to discuss getting a PoC setup to see if it helps in your case, or to answer any questions, feel free to reach out

This is different than what you’re asking about but is a GPT-powered chat with a library of over 500 best practice whitepapers from cloud providers: https://cloudwhitepapers.withcoherence.com

Hopefully the chat and functionality makes it more useful than just a guide or manifesto.

Any ideas or feedback welcome!

As we watch the evolution of Google's product portfolio, we've observed the company's occasionally perplexing tendency to shut down successful, well-liked services, often to the frustration of its user base. The recent decision to offload its Google Domains product to Squarespace is the latest in a series of moves that has left many of us scratching our heads.

I'am a cofounder of withcoherence.com, a PaaS developer experience on top of your own cloud. We are not open-source, but we support both AWS and GCP and provide a free tier of usage. Happy to answer any questions, feel free to get in touch!

If you want to use ECS on AWS, or use Cloud Run (+GKE if needed) check out withcoherence.com. In many ways it's similar to Porter as a "PaaS in your cloud" experience - but importantly it is not k8s based. Happy to discuss Heroku migration with anyone who's curious!

The part I like about Coherence is that they aren't pretending to be more than the UI/DX layer around things that are free and open-source.

I'm so not a fan of what YC has done in the last year by funding every "Heroku killer" under the sun without calling out the elephant in the room that Heroku was the accessible DX into AWS, and nothing more. That stuff all exists in the open source world.

The Cloud Whitepaper index provides an unprecedented service: it allows users to chat with an index of over 500 cloud whitepapers, packed with industry-leading insights and best practices. These whitepapers, often locked behind dense jargon and technical complexity, are now available to you through an interactive, AI-powered model that simplifies this giant pile of information. The index will search these documents using vector search and embeddings (stored in Pinecone), and will incorporate this contextual information into its answers as you chat with it. We are including almost 500 documents across a wide range of topics, with each document having its own detailed listing page with a GPT-generated description and tags, too! The chat interface will surface the sources used in each answer and link you to them seamlessly, making it easy to dive deeper.
