Agreed. I saw no flunk at all, let alone an interview flunk.

I highly recommend that people who read the book also read criticism addressing the authors understanding of race and genetics in said book, such as https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/bfopinion/race-genetics... quote: ‘Reich’s understanding of "race" … is seriously flawed.’

I have read the book in its entirety and thought the crude notion of "race" attributed to Reich in that letter was a strawman. Of course he doesn't subscribe to scientific-racist notions from a century ago! Have you read the book?

Yes I have read the book and agree with the signatories to the letter. I respect that you have read the book and do not.

O5-pro is available through the ChatGPT UI with a “Pro” plan. I understand that like o3 pro it is a high compute large context invocation of underlying models.

Thanks, I was not aware! I thought they offered all their models via their API.

This week’s episode of the BBC podcast The Infinite Monkey Cage was 42 minutes of Science Comedy dedicated to the spud, featuring the same expert as the OP.

Most interesting fact I learned was the effort going toward making potato seeds (not seed potatoes).

I’ve been using Orion as my daily driver on iOS for a year. I’ve never encountered these bugs. It’s possible I’m just not sensitive to them.

Same here. I noticed the macOS build has its quirks and crashes frequently (but it's beta/RC so...). But on iOS I never faced any issues that I can remember now.

> The only thing I’m missing is multi-account containers, or a way to isolate google or meta products for example into its own profile. But I can live with that for now.

Hmm, “profiles” work fine for me in Orion. A bit different to how Firefox and others achieve MAC, and less full featured maybe, but total separation is possible. You can’t assign sites to profiles but you can open separate profile windows.

They sound like an “Offy”.

This claim, and study which underpins the claims, was covered on the BBC More or Less Podcast last year. One of the main problems with the stat is that in ultramarathons there are very few women, but those that do enter are typically professional ultra-athletes, not "have a go" females. Whereas the field contains many "have a go" men who are less professional and less fit than the professional ultra-athlete men.

TL;DR

In the Women’s 3-set match, where there are 735 possibilities, these scores have never eventuated:

6-0 0-6 7-5, 6-0 0-6 6-0, 0-6 6-0 7-5

Meanwhile, in the 5-set format of Men’s matches, only 8.5% of the more than 100k result possibilities have occurred.

Then add on a huge UI.

The posted article isn’t as good as the better, longer web page by the actual researchers at https://www.mola.org.uk/discoveries/news/worlds-most-difficu...

Anyway, let’s see them tackle Eternity II next.
