Are you aware of Ruby?

The Ruby creator is Japanese but if you want to start using it today, you don't even have to know who Matz is. The website with the documentation is in English and translated to quite a number of other languages.

It really is not the fair comparison and I get what the parent was refering to.

Ruby is developed in a English community. People communicate in English. That makes a difference.

In the Wa community, you can speak English and we can understand English. Likewise, others must have the right to speak Chinese. This is fair to both Chinese and English users.

It is more about how the project is developed and maintained.

For example, Vue is founded by a Chinese. But the development happens in English. Issue tracker, RFC, code comments, all in English. Therefore, people around the world would know what direction the project is heading towards.

One example might be to protect the name of the victim in sexual harassment/abuse cases

This actually proves that crows are smarter than JavaScript developers

Reminds me of the "game journalist vs. pigeon" video:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vfIn9OqhZWo

I struggled with the exact same move in Cuphead training. I had the exact same reaction as the game journalist.

Were you not able to read the instructions on the wall?

My immense frustration was largely due to the fact that yes (of course) I was able to read the short instructions on the wall.

What I could not do (for more than 3 minutes straight, iirc) was execute those instructions in the proper manner to get Cuphead to do what I wanted.

disclaimer: I am old as hell and phased out of any serious video gaming in the era of 2D, 2 button and an 8-way joysticks

There are definitely laws against spam

Are there laws against spam that aren't narrowly defined as email or phone spam? I'm not aware of laws against forum/wiki/social media spam. The US postal service is largely spam-funded, as is Canada Post.

> are definitely laws against spam

Almost none of them in competent jurisdictions even attempt to define spam with an eye towards balancing against free speech.

What laws are there against posting twitter spam?

Yes they do? You can install system wide Tor on android. If you are referring to the fact that phones emit signals that can be triangulated, that doesn't interfere with anonymity in and of itself.

I mean, it literally interferes with anonymity in the most fundamental way.

"Everywhere you go, even when you're not actively using your phone, it's still listening." - Edward Snowden

With a SIM card, you are by definition always tracked and identified individually. It's how the technology is designed to function. You can remove the SIM card, harden your OS, randomize your Wifi MAC but at that point you aren't really using a _cell phone_ anymore.

You could use the same argument for the radios in your home and WiFi. And anonymity is about your name. If they can locate your phone but not be used to identify you then it doesn't break anonymity.

The fact that towers can ID which phones go where does interfere however.
