I've never understood IQ tests. Granted, i have only seen the beginning of some of them where they show you those 3/4 figures and tell you to choose the "next one" ... I have never had a clue of what am I supposed to look for.
Maybe I am just extremely stupid. But then I'm a walking example that you can be averagly successful even being dumb as a rock, if you are stubborn enough haha.
Just passing by to thank you. As many others have mentioned, DJGPP was pivotal for my life. I compiled my first C/Allegro games in DJGPP back in the mid/late 90s.
Longhorn, Zune, phone, Skype, bungie , among many other failures. I was there, as a kid of the 80s, Microsoft, Windows, Visual Basic, VStudio were EVERYTHING up until around 2003, they just dropped too many balls.
It was botching Mobile that really did Balmer in and possibly not reacting quite quickly enough to the need for Enterprise-grade Cloud Computing while Amazon was bootstrapping AWS right in Microsoft's back yard.
They got the cloud situation under control but losing Mobile to Apple and Google was a disaster and they're paying for it still.
It's simply amazing. I was looking for a ~$6000 USD 14in laptop with good specs. NOTHING compares to what Apple has right now. I looked at Framework, some gaming laptops, ThinkPads, Dells and most of them would require 16+ inches to get specs similar to a MBP 14 Ultra with 128GB unified ram and 8tb disk. ...
Apple has done an amazing job integrating all that hardware. And I say this as someone who was looking to buy a notebook to install Linux, as its my favorite OS.
So what im doing is put Ubuntu Server Arm + kde-desktop in VMware and use it as my main dev env.
Several members of my family are into glp-1 both for glucose control and for weight loss. Taking different brands (wegovy, ozempic and others.) They all mention.th terrible secondary effects when you eat something "forbidden" (tacos, cake or icecream e.g.) .
Also It causes constipation apparently, which for most of them is not that much of an issue, but given that I've IBS-C, I'm happy to not have to take it.
I'm surprised that tacos are a big deal. I'd have thought that the filling (meat, cheese, veggies, maybe beans) would mostly outweigh the carbs from the shell.
More anecdata, my spouse and I have been on Mounjaro since Jan 2025 guided by private health insurance.
I have suffered almost the entire gamut of side effects from the beginning until I tried split dosing twice a week, and even then there’s still the occasional instance of me learning that I should not have eaten that and the following 9 hours are going to revolve around stomach pain.
My partner’s journey on the other hand has been smooth sailing the entire time.
YMMV, do your own research but definitely double check any search results with your doctor first… lots of urban myths going around.
I do recommend it though, I am the healthiest I’ve been in literally 10 years.
Hey, I liked the analysis thanks! Any reason why you removed SDRs, Account Executives and similar Sales related roles? I would love to see how that compares to the data you do present.
I ask, because earlier this year I had the chance to use a Waymo for the first time. I moved a good chunk of my portfolio to GOOG after that.
To me, Waymo felt like either Magic or stepping 15+ years into the future; Demolition Man stuff (im a child of the 80s, Xenial).
Stuff like Waymo, AlphaFold and similar are just so far away from anybody else, that Alphabet could split in several companies and all of them would be hugely dominant in the future. And none of them base their revenue in advertising.
That's why taking a Waymo in LA left me without words... like traveling 10 years in the future. And you dont have to deal with all that crap.
I hope Waymo squashes all the competition.
BTW after getting back from LA I increased my GOOG position. Waymo is so groundbreaking and it is THERE.
