Exactly the same happened to me when I was in my teens and next thing I know my dentist has drilled pretty much most of the good teeth under the name of cavity. In my 40s now and I am still paying for it as I now have to keep on visiting a dentist every year because of my constantly broken fillings. I have paid a lot out of pocket and the insurance has paid a lot on my behalf to the dentists.
The cost of each filling nets the dentist $100+ and each patient now becomes a repeat customer and serves the dental industry for life. There is no ethics in this space and it's unfortunately a BIG SCAM.
I can attest to it, the value hasn't grown much in my inactive portfolio. This portfolio was set up as set it and forget it in 1999. I will need to run a realized gain/loss statement.
Generally Japanese companies will send their liaison to the host country and having experienced this first hand I can say that liasions are expected to be available throughout the Japan day time.
After visiting Japan on several occasions for company related work, I can confirm this is true. However, there are labor laws that prevent certain types of workers from working overtime or even the weekends. However, the labor laws do not seem to apply to the management. Unclear on how the law works, but these were my observations.
Yes at some companies you start as a member of the union as a junior employee (even if you're an engineer or finance person), and after you're promoted to a certain level, you're part of management and are no longer part of the union.
This is more like a using the state for eminent domain/land acquisition for a factory and collect perks and subsidies from government while getting debt from Public sector banks and at a later date cashing the real estate and dumping the factories etc on the Banks while making lot of cash.
Out of the stores that Walmart is shutting down in California region, few of the stores were doing very well and located in the best areas for their customer base in So. Cal. Then there were some stores that were just redesigned. This makes me think if it could again be union-related issues in California.
