I'd add that trust is a critical component of flat structures. If you lose it, or feel threatened and react accordingly, it shifts power around in a way that will ultimately unbalance the ship.


Really needs an indicator that tells you how many moves you have in a given turn, which goes down as you click.

The startup fad that caught me was a phone app that helps you meet strangers near you. I thought I was being unique and clever, but then a hundred other startups came out in the space and failed spectacularly. The only one that survived was grindr.


Hardly. Highlight is pretty active still.

Short of actually making (good, working) stuff, informed and merciless prioritization is the most important thing you can do in producing software.


And for life in general.


Nothing they have done or said strikes me as an honest admission of guilt, sorrow or concern.


They gave everyone a free game.

That sounds like something.


Or the insanely small limitations on city size.


Or the large amount of bugs. Or the lack of a save & load feature. Or the impossibility of customizing the starting terrain. Or the severe lack of information the game gives you (seriously, were are all the graphs?).

It's a step back on many many ways.



It's partially a stealth layoff.


For that money I want a real OS.
