"User reports indicate problems at Amazon Web Services" User reported outage sounds like people confusing the Heroku outage with AWS.

and if this article were about Timnit Gebru, this ad hominem attack would carry more weight.

You can find plenty of other ex-Googlers saying the same thing:

I've been using a Vim clone of Magit for a while with good success: https://github.com/jreybert/vimagit

Not being an eMacs user, I'm not familiar with the feature differences, but the workflow of stage/commit is worth it alone.

I have vivid memories of the demos at Incredible Universe, including an early-stage VR setup. It's also the place I was able to try out crappy consoles like the Atari Jaguar and the 3DO Interactive.

I also remember demoing the 3DO at Incredible Universe. What an incredible store design they had. I believe I also bought my copy of OS/2 there.

As recently as last week it seems, TriMet's board has been discussing how free fares might work: https://www.oregonlive.com/commuting/2019/12/is-trimet-discu...

I figured I'd see Quinn's name mentioned in the comments. He had a good Twitter thread a bit ago about the easiest things you can do to lower your bill:

Would that be the quick keynote excerpt? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F61GtueelP4

Or their IoT talk? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7oqSTmrfVc

It’s the quick keynote. Starts around 6:30. AWS spend down 15% even though traffic is 21x what it was a year ago.

Happy Metropolitan user here too. I bought a couple other inexpensive fountain pens to try them out (Lamy Safari, Pilot Prera Iro-Ai), but I came back to the Metropolitan. The weight and writing-smoothness are outstanding considering how cheap it is.

I use uBlock Origin in advanced mode, which lets you do something similar.

Haven't used it extensively, but blocking the following domains sped things up a little:

- hangouts.google.com - plus.google.com - play.google.com

Yes. He can put actions behind his words, or his reply is just hot air.

Plus, by endorsing it as a Google-sanctioned event, he's effectively taking power away from those walking out from disrupting normal business as usual (e.g., allowing managers to reschedule meetings).
