Yep, any varient of jetbrains with their awesome sql +++ support beats this and most others hands down. Especially if you're someone who'd actually use this for real work. Like a statistician/analyst

Maybe they should have said "our mathematical models need X coverage of population to <observe> reliably".

At least people could have a slightly more informed sense of outrage then.

This is fucking awesome woooh! (Not sarcasm, I guess I'll find out next week what getting crfsuite setup and adding training data is like. I hope not traumatizing but either way I have very good reasons to invest tons of time into project for job where we parse every craz-ily formatted address in U.S. postal region..like all the time re-parse over and over and over..all work and no play makes jack a dull boy)

I don't think the kind of people who would be interested in this project really care about having to sign in to google.

Ah, thanks.

I clicked on the sign-in via google but then nothing else happened after authorizing identifying me..

No email, nothing. Maybe they are understandably experiencing some high loads or something. It'd be nice to quickly update web page to state that though if true.

UPDATE: Never mind, see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8281116

Yes this wasn't meant to publicly available yet - was up for our own testing and internal use. The maintainer is working on scaling it a bit, but its not really ready to take on the full load of the internet.

This is sweet as f- in terms of showing off a full platform as needed by weirdo stats people for their models plus enough data to choke on...

And the ipython + docker container to wrap it all up is just kind of showing off.. I mean really.(haha no I want it bad..or some people I know would if they could give up R fetish)

As a Ruby developer, the iPython Notebook left me with a deep seated feeling of envy. Every programmer should be so fortunate as to have something like iPython Notebook at their disposal. It's like a REPL on steroids. I have piles of Ruby source code that is intended specifically for "replaying" in an IRB console.

That's the point, both of them in fact. It's likely that to error on side if caution they rarely in fact do find and purge all your associated "identities" / records..

So why are they even bothering? Especially since they could collect much less while greatly increasing safe purge of your records if they wanted to. Targeting people for advertising is not a cursory half assed random thing to advertisers. It's their bread and butter. Why is this link even on hn?

I'd have to concur. I have a lot of experience and first hand knowledge targeting and identifying unique us voters(for good, or at least not republicans)and the big tell that this is bullshit is the one crucial piece of data they don't ask for other than name: DOB.

I can't get too detailed with things but they're either a scan or they're going to do a very poor matching job and likely not remove very many people successfully. Not enough for this to not kind of feel very wasteful.

I'm under impression advertising data middlemen or "wizards of" are quite a bit more sophisticated than their questions would lead you to believe.. So yeah scratch that.

My conclusion now this is either a scam or done in bad faith for some reason that we aren't aware of yet.

I found osx white text being bolder less easy to read in majority of cases it presented me with.

Though I had to fight temptation to pick white anyway because I thought that "might be" what more l33t people would think is better..
