> I'm close to completing Single Variable Calculus on the OCW website on MIT.

It's probably too late for that course, but IMO MIT's courses on edx are much better structured than on MIT OCW or whatever it's called.

I've done edx, Coursera, now mit ocw, khan academy, and plan on continued experimentation. The best tool overall I've found is Anki.

I've also tried to keep my learning carried with lots of reading. The most academic book of the year I had was"energy and civilization".

I would strongly recommend learning how to learn to help formulate a learning plan and making sure you get the right level of challenge.

Similar for me, but custom maps in wc3 instead.

This is why math shouldnt be posted on HN.

There is worse misunderstanding/bikeshedding upwards in the thread, although it's more artfully worded. And at least one of the replies to this refers to useful resources. This is, in fact, exactly why math should be posted on HN.

What's your background in math?

I am a geometer by training.

Not sure about that, aren't immigrants (on average) more educated than the native population?

Varies by country. The US has huge amounts of unselected immigration and makes no real effort to enforce its immigration laws so you get loads of Mexicans and before them Irish and Italians. All of those populations were negatively selected; the average immigrant to the US from those countries was less educated than the average for their country during the period of greatest immigration. Countries with selective or skills based immigration like Australia or Canada, with their points systems have immigrant populations that are a lot more educated than the native population or the average for the source countries.

I remember reading that a large percentage of US companies are founded by immigrants. About 40-50%? Can’t recall sources , but it was a much larger number than what I thought.

then there is a difference between general immigration and war refugees

What do you image a constructive proof looking like?

It would look like an algorithm that solves an NP-complete problem in polynomial time. (Isn't that obvious?)

Sure. And why does that seem any more feasible than a non-constructive proof?

I don't know. Why is the moon plaid?

You could say the exact same thing for eg. mass.

SC2 is way larger in the west than it is in Korea.

Starcraft is so big in Korea that games are literally broadcast on over-the-air television and displayed in restaurants.

What would happen if you asked your local restaurant in the West to replace the NFL or NBA game with a video game?

Immigration is good for the economy and is a fundamental liberal value.

What was your SC2 alias? I played at a similar level as you.
