Full OS updates seem to matter less and less these days. I remember upgrading to Android 12, whose flagship feature was - a new theming system. And some rearrangement of the UI. Not really worth the downtime.
Maybe I'm just getting older. I'd rather have year over year consistency over what some committee of designers thinks is more "modern".
Unless you're being sarcastic, Google absolutely lets the free software world make free software builds for the android reference developer hardware and they have been doing this continuously & consistently since the ancient Nexus days.
These two are not the same thing. Every app is allowed to serve you personalized ads, without asking. ATT is about cross app/site tracking between other companies, which is something Apple has never done.
monero, without dev tax and pre-mine, simply doesn't have the funds to compete in research with other, more well funded projects. I don't see how a different emission curve would have helped here.
MRL work is progressing on Seraphis[1] which will allow for significantly higher ring sizes without increasing the transaction size. A proof of concept is currently in development.
