4.5% tablet marketshare (http://www.winbeta.org/news/windows-8-and-windows-rt-account...) is tiny, but big enough to account for anecdotes like this.

Right, there's not a legal way to subscribe so you're illegally subscribing. For the children, or something.

I'm doing everything I can to legitimately pay for the service. If it is "illegal" then it's absurd and just shows you how dumb the laws are regarding digital movies/music.

In the "pros" column, you're just violating netflix TOS so in the worst case they figure out you are lying about your country and delete your account. Sounds like a pretty safe (but expensive) way to pirate movies to me.

Netflix is ok with you travelling to another country and use their service from there, but they warn you that content will be different.

So switching DNS is kinda like travelling fast...

If Netflix and the content provider decides that I'm a horrible person and don't want my money, they can cancel my account, maybe I'll start considering torrent'ing then.

You weren't actually asking for comments, so sorry if I'm just being annoying, but:

* I love the font size and content column width. More line height than 140% might be good, but I then again have extreme preferences for line height (160%).

* Consider not paginating the posts, or picking a higher limit. You currently have 1 more than you show on the first page, so why not show it on page 1?

* The big image on the search page is funny, but takes a very long time to load. Removing it or moving it to a CDN will make loading that page faster.

* text-align: justify is your friend! Thin columns look weird with right-aligned text.

<3!

Thank you for making this, and please please please don't "pivot" from a bookmarklet into another half-baked social network.

heh, absolutely no chance of that happening.

The title is missing a >. Should be "-->"

For some reason it changes the "-->" back to "--" I tried many times/ways to include the entire operator before giving up & just posting it..

What about > ?

No requests are sent when I hit the "Save Changes" button. I have a small amount of confidence that my preferences are going to be picked up.

It doesn't seem to work in Chrome. Worked for me in Firefox.

It's important to note the careful hedging in that response. Specifically:

* Activity Streams will be read-only, except through their (non-ostatus) API.

* No subscribing through pubsubhubbub "initially." It implies but does not promise eventually subscribing.

* Similar to streams, webfinger will be published but not consumed.

* From context, the final clause about inbound and outbound syndication is through some non-ostatus mechanism.

Sorry for the tangent, but svbtle knockoffs like the http://wp-svbtle.themeskult.com/ used here are annoying.

I don't want the whole internet to look like svbtle. Heck, I don't even want svbtle to look like svbtle.

I think he's using Obtvse: https://github.com/NateW/obtvse

Who cares? It's clean and it's readable, it already beat several other front page HN articles on those two alone.

Citation needed.

I never thought I'd say this, but that page is too orange.
