Any startup want to give us a try. I am leading a very small team of 4 people in one small town in India. I want to work in my own ideas, as apart from consultancy there is not much happening in some part of India. I am not getting the real experience. So want to be part of a startup to learn, work harder and deliver. This way I think I will get some confidence on my ability and my team strength. We can work on PHP, CakePHP, XHTML, CSS (hand coding), GIMP/Photoshop (basic photo editing stuff.. not professional logo or graphics design), JavaScipt/jQuery.... Learning Ruby on Rail too!!! Anybody interested can drop a few line to my id.... prasana.mishra at gmail dot com We would like to work for free till you gain confidence on us and we work upto your expectation....

hmmm I too agree with this post somehow.... since long I am also not comfortable in learning flash and creating flash based website.. though the graphics is amazing but very slow.... the current decision by apple will definitely hinder the progress of Flash... Adobe need to come up with it's own version of mobile phone :) in the post Steve Jobs mentioned not to encourage the third party layer.... so they ll be slow to adapt the platform changes.... But today got mail from Appacceletor Titanium, they are quite happy bcoz they are developing based on JavaScript.... not sure..

Last week only I downloaded the RC version of Ubuntu 10.04. Quite happy!! Mac inspired design :) I am running in Virtual Box apart from resolution I didn't face much difficulties going smooth!! though I m not using much feature apart from learning Ruby & RoR...

I really like this quote!! and believe it too... also I read some where... "when he is awake he is working" admire this guy..

the last thing I need switching from gmail to pine :)

Same here I am also trying Ubuntu 10.04 on virtual box.. though hard time fixing the resolution :) still playing around RoR it's nice!!! I am a java programmer... playing around a bit with PHP, CakePHP stuff... but again and again considering RoR... RoR screencast and community is gr8.. so does the PHP manual... but CakePHP I don't like much... very confusing naming convention and it's not working as expected... Still not able to make up my mind to go for CakePHP vs RoR (each time thinking in terms of Facebook vs Twitter :) )...I know facebook not using CakePHP but still they r using PHP..

hmm It's worth give a try on heroku... I looked at http://elusivehippo.com/... the price seems outrageous min $63 per month... is this the standard price??

Sorry about that. ElusiveHippo originally started as a python deployment system for higut.com. I ended up needing to create a demo/portfolio site to show prospective employers how I could pick up new technology. So I very quickly wrote a node version, released it into the wild, and waited to see how far it would go on its own. Then, I disappeared to San Francisco for a week without checking back on it.

None of the details on the site are standard or set in stone - all the pricing numbers were completely made up. Not only that, but there's actually no indication that the system works at all, is there? :) There are about 20 working alpha accounts in various hands, but it doesn't really matter if it worked or not - there's clearly been some effects ^_^.

Again, sorry for any confusion. I could write a blog post about the details, the implementation, and the aftermath if people were interested. Then, people could fairly easily implement their own. I've converted many ex-PHP, ex-Rails, ex-Django coders to nodejs using this demo site!
