I completely agree with the idea of paying a compliment to someones supervisor or manager, I find it rare when people recognize great work. While I agree also with why you may want to ask the manager and the issues makes some sense , I think it goes a long way! Just to call them out on the great work!

and they had the perfect alibi not to change this despite 45% being the standard rate...two systems. Instead of getting 15% of a lot, they'll get 45% of close to nothing (relatively speaking.) Not to mention the whole ecosy$tem that was built around this.
