but like most articles about Israeli hacking, US Big Tech involvement in the war, etc it was immediately flagged once it reached the front page.

I don’t know how much of this is moderators removing posts, or if there is a pro-Israel brigade that is censoring HN’s front page.

I'm one of the people who flags some of these articles (though not this one), because they're generally uninteresting, and repetitive. I'm not Jewish, have never been to Israel, and am not part of any brigade.

Thank God you're protecting us from what you do not find interesting.

When you have a minute, please review the HN Guidelines, specifically:

they used to be really unapologetic about it

it's prudent to assume such operations are still ongoing

JIDF turned out to be one guy. That was a sideshow.

This article is from Hareetz, which is a major newspaper in Israel.

There's a huge, organized Israel lobby aimed at the US. It's no secret. There's AIPAC, the American-Israel Political Action Committee. "Lobbying for Pro-Israel Policies", it says on their web site. There are official organizations in the government of Israel which do "public diplomacy".[1]

I flagged it because it's really boring to see people go through the same predictable, tribal motions on a topic that's been covered to death by every media outlet.

Why not just click the "hide" button? Why try to prevent other people from seeing it who would be interested?

Don’t read the comments then

Is there any update on the lawsuit from all the environmental damage from their last launch?

Might have been around the time they stopped focusing on users and tried to embed themselves in the National security state. I guess around 2014 when Condoleezza Rice joined the board of directors.

> embed themselves in the National security state

What's that about? Sounds unusual.

Interesting that this is on the front page of HN today. Tensions are running high in the psytrance subreddit this week. Psytrance is very popular among Israeli settlers, perhaps because many visit Goa after completing their military service.

The festival in Israel where 250 people were murdered by Palestinians while they were dancing in peace was a Psy Trance festival. One of the greatest Psy Trance bands of all time, Astral Projection, was supposed to play at the festival. You're right that tensions are running high. This was an absolute pogrom on a peace loving community that many people (including myself) have been a part of for 40+ years. Suggesting that "tensions are running high" is the understatement of the year.

A survivor of this attack claims that IDF open-fired on the hostages https://electronicintifada.net/content/israeli-forces-shot-t...

That publication is dripping in propaganda.

> "It happened when Israeli forces engaged in fierce gun battles with Palestinian fighters in Kibbutz Be’eri and fired indiscriminately at both the fighters and their Israeli prisoners."

"terrorists took civilian hostages", has become "fighters took prisoners". That is the wheels of propaganda spinning.

> "...said that prior to that, she and other civilians had been held by the Palestinians for several hours and treated “humanely.” She had fled the nearby “Nova” rave"

Well sure, all I'd be talking about is the nice treatment of my captors too, who just slaughtered 250 of my fellow ravers. They offered tea and cake it was nice.

I don’t understand what the US gains by pushing this theory. It’s implausible (or maybe straight up impossible?) that a tiny sailing yacht could hold enough explosives for scuba divers to individually plant on the pipeline near Bornholm.

Why are US Intelligence services promoting this theory? It would mean they’ve been backing a country that violated the NATO joint aggression treaty.

> I don’t understand what the US gains by pushing this theory.

The US isn’t pushing this theory.

> Why are US Intelligence services promoting this theory?

They aren’t. Unidentified sources of unknown affiliation cited in German media are claiming that US learned about a Ukrainian plot from Dutch intelligence and told Ukraine not to do it.

You are confusing the subject of the story with its source.

> It’s implausible (or maybe straight up impossible?) that a tiny sailing yacht could hold enough explosives for scuba divers to individually plant on the pipeline near Bornholm.

Huh? It's totally plausible. I don't believe it, but it's certainly plausible. Just how much explosives do you think it would have required? Even small personal boats can easily carry several tons of cargo, and that is more than enough to trash some pipes. I'm really struggling to think why and how you could think this implausible.

Why is it impossible? Explosives can be fairly compact, especially if its a shaped charge. Do you have anything to cite to backup your claims?

did “she” write this response? or does everyone in the company talk in a robotic fashion?

Because in the current system of production that’s swallowing the globe, the only thing that matters is driving sales growth.

The comment you’re replying to is an Eminem lyric; it’s a joke.

Didn't knew that, thanks! Pretty sure someone electronic artist will have had it remixed right?

edit: took me 30s to find several of them on youtube.

Anyone got a link to a longer clip of the actual audio?

He played it last month at Santiago de Chile.

Skimming through the available Youtube videos for that, it's not showing up. :/

The US is taking corruption to institutionalized levels probably never seen before in any society. However, the media is so tightly controlled by corporate monopolies that the people of the US still believe they live in a democracy.

You do wonder how much further it will continue. Will everything just hit a wall soon?
