I would be interested in the avx2 transition penalty under real world workloads.

How and why are you so vehemently defending instacart when it comes to WA state law?

I'm not defending Instacart, I'm just pointing out legal realities. Many folks in this thread are severely mistaken about employment law. Just because something is morally wrong doesn't mean its illegal. I'm from Washington as well. I know a decent amount about employment law here.

Is lenticular defending Instacart? It helps no one - much less the victims - to inaccurately portray their legal situation.

Class action lawsuit.

I'd love to see someone at Instacsrt jailed for wage theft.

They should have to pay back "the winnings" by 3x and fire the people involved.

Israel has "the bomb", they definitely could start a global war.

Or, Israel having nukes has made their neighbors wary of another attempt at annihilating them, which could trigger a large war.

What series of bombings might start a global war? I doubt bombing Iran would be enough.

The nuclear bombing of Iran by a state would almost certainly be enough to precipitate the complete collapse of the NPT, which is already wobbly (the latest Review Conference ended in acrimony).

Subsequent nuclear weapons projects in erstwhile NPT NNWS could easily trigger a few regional wars, and from there the escalation to a global conflict is certainly possible.

According to Colin Powell they have 200 of them.

More than enough to bring the Fallout series to life.

Many professional books these days have issues with registration, bleed, trimming, etc. The quality is quite poor, to the point where I have fatigue determining if a book is "legit" or not.

You are on social media right now.

Yes and no. HN is definitely social, but there are no friends, no feeds, and no notifications, so it's unlike social media as most people understand the term.

If I skip HN for a day, there's a whole front page of articles that I'll probably never see, and never know that I missed.

Sorta...yes it is media as it is information transferred over a medium..but I think nerdponx is excluding this because its more 'social internet' than social media. With social media, you are like a company, with your brand, that you are trying to ensure looks good and shows good collaboration with other companies. With social internet, you are a human talking to other humans through technology.

These cars must have a little pop-out joystick to maneuver it around in a garage or during repair?

There should be a standardized control that pops out of the dash using a fixed icon, so that anyone can enable an override.

Nuts.

Parking valets in ultra-cramped garages come particularly to mind for me, after having watched a group of attendants perform an elaborate repositioning of a dozen cars in one of those mechanical-car-lift parking areas with barely enough free space to fit a single car at a time.

They'll probably put something on the CAN bus for manual maneuvering.

How awesome would it have been to be a high performing student, writing programs that a lower performing student would have to execute manually on your simulated computer system. So much good stuff here. Do you want to layout the nand gate or BE the nand gate? Or be the one that decides which problems the nand gate solves?

Because of leakage current.
