Moved to Appalachia (parents). I'm eating better. Proud to report that we bought a place in the center of town for 1/3 of our place in Austin. Bored, though.
I wore "11" as a sophomore HS running back, then moved to "40" for my junior & senior years. I gained almost zero weight (or muscle), but I swear I looked GOOD with those skinny ones on my front & back.
We're about to find out too. Dad passed 8 months ago; we got a $1500 hospital bill last week (just after the probate window closed) w/o explanation or description of services rendered.
That sounds to me like the hospital screwed up and is asking for charity. If the probate window is closed before they sent the bill (check the postmark date), then I don't think you owe them anything.
I used Excel sheets with a small grid scale & cell merges to build page layout prototypes for a startup. Didn't have to climb the Figma learning curve (no disrespect to Figma, I'm sure it's great). Would do it again.
Just for drawing mock app screens, I have found Balsamiq[0] to be pretty good (you can do a bunch of stuff with the trial version itself). Not affiliated with them in any way.
I moved from Austin to Appalachia last year to help elderly parents, so this is going to be a tough sell. Semiconductor ops & supply chain, prod mgmt, and whatever else you’d ask of a grizzled polymath.
This is a thing? I get it, the unboxing experience is fun. But I’m not saving a piece of pretty cardboard to hold pencils. That’s why I look for cigar boxes at flea markets.
In a large org, this guy would work with people so high up the food chain that the average IC will never see or talk to. As one of the latter, I've seen a lot of meaningless initiatives spawned by executive-level advice or "coaching" like this. Here's an "Employees are our top priority" poster or "Pick a $20 gift certificate to your favorite national chain store from the company we hired to run the program."
Despair.com nailed it: "If a pretty poster and a cute saying are all it takes to motivate you, you probably have a very easy job. The kind robots will be doing soon."[0]
