Wechat is large enough to be able to negotiate requirements with Apple. They are the gateway to an entire continent and close to 2 Billion users. And since they are a 'everything app' the frequency of use and reliance is likely compounded.
Apple's not picking up the phone for 50 million users. So we shouldn't expect anything different here.
Luckily there are other phones and mobile os's to develop for.
From the spec sheets I’m looking at, it is not. I’m seeing models of the Dell Pro Max with 128 GB of DDR5-6400 as CAMM2, then a separate memory of up to 24 GB on the GPU. CAMM2 does not make the memory unified.
You're not looking at the right thing. Dell's naming is horrible. Dell Pro Max with GB10 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/pdp/spd/dell-pro-max-fcm...). It's a very different computer than what you're looking at and has 128GB LPDDR5X unified memory.
Not sure why they stopped using 6 GPUs in thei builds - with 4 GPUs, both 9070 and rtx6000 come in 2 slot designs, so it easy to build it yourself using a bit more expensive, but still fairly regular motherboard.
With 6 GPUs you have to deal with risers, pcie retimers, dual PSUs and custom case for so value proposition there was much better IMO
Anyone who does 996 is being exploited, unless they're the actual boss, in which case they're the ones doing the exploiting if they're pushing 996 on their employees.
This is why 996 bosses think AI can replace their employees, because they already see the employees as robots, not humans.
I hope not.
Projects like that to have any chance at surviving have to be good phones first. Adding modularity will make it worse in terms of specs, more expensive and in the result dead on arrival.
Once they launch a few successful (or at least sustainable) products, they can maybe try doing some modularity
if you've ever streamed video on a local network over web sockets you'll notice latency. no matter how fast sending text based control messages may be, latency in the video stream will cause users to send controls with the same latency which makes control impossible as far as I know.
