"Instead of the "Collaboration Sucks" approach, we need to apply Gravitational Pull. For every key project, the Driver defines three essential stakeholders (e.g., Tech Lead, Business Owner, Target User) who form the "Quantum Sync Circle." - this sentence had me so freaked out with all of its buzz words, but man I think I really strongly agree with it. I love the inclusion of target user!

I know from a strictly economic standpoint the things I do are the things I want. But is doing an activity are you addicted to what you really want in a human sense?

While I generally agree that he doesn't look all that smart in the traditional sense, during the early part of his first election I don't think he had the full power of right wing media behind him. He is _excellent_ at something, and I think demagoguery might be a reasonable term for it. He seems to me to be very good at saying things that make people feel "activated" (to quote dang above). It is almost like the way he speaks is the human manifestation of the engagement algorithm that it took Facebook years and years to develop. It is really quite something.

Why does it have to be only his skill and not a quality of the people he entrances?

It's simple: he's famous. He isn't even the first public personality the US voted.

The (sadly) most important thing for a campaign is charisma, and people from decades prior (AKA the ones that actually vote) see Trump and think of the times with The Apprentice, or any variety of commercials he's been in, or some talk show he was on. That mixed with an increasing distrust of the establshment and you get Trump 45.

Trump 47, similar vibes + the "I was richer under Trump" mentality. These are short-sighted, but common sentiments.

That very well may be all this is, I wasn't alive for the last famous president. I suppose folks feelings about him do feel similar to the other types of celebrity infatuation. I've never really understood the way people relate to famous people, I wonder if it is escapism, an inhuman place to project the idealized good or evil they imagine exists but that they never find in people who they actually know.

Preaching to the choir here. I'm that nerd who could go off on all the themes, dyanmics, and philosophies of The Matrix, and then 15 years later hear "Keaneu Reeves as John Wick" and have a blank face. I've never been particularly good at naming celebrities.

But I'd be unsurprised if I was ever diagnosed as neurodivergent, and apparently people find other people's lives engaging or even "relatable". Not that I never had my share of famous people I liked hearing about. It's just that I more resonate with their actions and works than their day-to-day lives.

Tragedy?

While describing it this way may make it sound worse, this is (IME) how it works. For some folks the optimization is intuitive and mostly happens subconsciously for some others it doesn't and needs more focus.

A long time ago I started noting when people (esp. my partner) said they like certain things in my phone, then I get them as gifts days, weeks, months, years later. People now think I'm very thoughtful, but I'm just a good note taker. The experience made me think that people who are naturally more "thoughtful", at least partially, just have better memories.

I get the optimization thing. I also replay situations in my head and how it could have gone better. I even save notes/reminders/mindmaps for the next time I talk to someone or I'm in a particular social situation. That's just how my mind works, and I can't remember everything.

I also second your approach. I have a todo.txt file of various restaurants, experiences, places my gf wants to visit. Next time I want to plan a date, I look up the list ("Hey babe, let's go that that [RESTAURANT MENTIONED 3 MONTHS AGO] tonight. It's proven to be a very good system. <3

The behavior you're describing does make you a thoughtful person even though the thoughts aren't necessarily in the front of your mind. Check out the concept of embodied cognition.

I was so excited when I saw this and now I'm disappointed. This kind of statement "quit on trying to win clients that are trying to get the best price" creates a false dichotomy of those who are trying to pay nothing and those willing pay whatever. There are tons of customers in the middle who are happy to pay for important services but think 30K (3% in high COL areas) is too much for the services rendered.

That being said, I think as long as you are honest that "better pricing" isn't your goal then fair enough. It isn't the service for me, but I'm sure some folks will certainly be excited about it.

> We are charging for the service.

> Our service is rendered by an AI.

I really don't know what their eventual value-add is. I doubt anyone's going to be paying 2.5-5% to househunt with an AI.

They say in theOP "Our mission at Modern Realty is to make home buying easier, faster, and far more enjoyable."

But here in the comments, they say their mission is to get rich with AI. Tricky! I wonder which claim is right.

Replace salary with the thing he wants

Maybe he wants to make the world a better place?

Maybe :)

I'm in the Seattle metro area and 25K to 40K is very common. They tell you all kinds of subsidies and payback periods but the out of pocket or loan is always in that range. And payback periods are terrible here given the weather.

My parents spent $18K on rooftop solar in the Boise metro area. One Tesla powerwall battery and install on top of that will be another $15K.

And the Powerwall is also a ripoff vs many other options. 5kw battery module can be for for 1.2k, so 3 modules give 15kwh for under 5k

depends on the market. The 5kw options i was quoted were Enphase 5p batteries, average price from multiple installers was $5k per battery installed.

Compared to this, 15kwh for under 5k https://midlandbatteries.com/products/dyness-15kwh-dl5-0c-ba...

Needs an inverter though, but if you have solar you already should be ok

For a while dokku was selling a pro version with a web ui and json api. I don't really mind the CLI so while we bought it I don't really use it. I see there hasn't been much activity on pro, I wonder if it is still a focus.

I can think of a few reasons why people want (either already or after enough pulls of the slot machine) a committed relationship.

Though to be clear, just because I think the other more stable thing is valuable to folks even with the availability of the sex slot machine, I still don't love businesses trying to push slot machines or any kind really.
