not super impressive but negotiated a promotion (got it on paper) to be retained if I stayed when I gave my notice. I still didn't take it but it was a small personal victory.
downside is that you'll always be on the support side of a company. it's the logistics in the form of tech; it's the most important thing when it's not running perfect, and when it's smooth, no one really pays attention as the main product/mission will be on top of mind.
I went to a hackathon where riley goodside gave an elaborate, hour-long presentation on his work at scale ai. There were about 500 people in the building. Of the 500, 499 of them didn't listen to a single thing. maybe it is, maybe it isn't. The CEO of the company also came out and said it didn't seem useful--paraphrasing his comment.
CEO didn't speak on the presentation, nor was he there. he was on some congressional hearing thing i believe. he tweeted it out. he probably doesn't even know what riley does.
one meal a day. i dont think you automatically go omad; maybe it did for him but not for the general population. it's definitely a habit that needs to be intentional for most.
try starting out with intermittent fasting, something simple like a 8:16 timeline (8 hour eating window, 16 hour fasting), and then move to 6:18 when you get comfortable.
wait an hour after waking up before drinking your first sip of coffee. Google "andrew huberman coffee" if you want to know why, I'm not smart enough to explain well and just know that it does work (at least for me).
happy to hear it worked out and that other users have provided some great options other than going straight to OS(ing) it. best of luck on your future.
If it's an internal name, maybe, but external names are generally intended to manipulate the public via psychology to make unconscious connections to the product that will make them want the product, in other words "marketing 101".
second this, quietly happy. i know many that are as well. we just can't really voice it because people blow their lids if you are not part of the "Current Thing", which right now is hating everything that Elon touches.
That's fantastic to hear. The guy who leads GDG for North America and Canada grew up in Nigeria and got his education there. He's the most enthusiastic and passionate developer I've ever met. I love the reach google has in inspiring new engineers. Thanks for sharing your story.
