NewsJunky is an attempt to use twitter data (likes & shares) to automatically detect the most relevant news stories in Ireland on a minute-to-minute basis. I follow the major news outlets' twitter feeds and track each story published. Every few minutes I check the delta on likes/shares for each story, and feed that delta into a formula which scores higher for recent delta; and less so for older delta.
As well as a 'Top Stories' section, I publish a feed of all stories from Irish publishers, and recently started archiving news stories on a daily basis.
