You can use `delete` instead of `write`:

defaults -currentHost delete -globalDomain NSStatusItemSpacing

Regarding banning platforms I’d say just ban the attention driven business model online by forbidding all social media platforms from serving ads entirely.

Ban all third party advertisement. Or taking payment for it at any rate.

Just typing on iOS randomly inserts the wrong characters: https://youtu.be/hksVvXONrIo

I thought it was just me until someone mentioned this on HN

Same here, I've found too many bugs in Proton's email client and instead of fixing them they just release new products. FastMail support has been great, I think the developers themselves reply (some of the?) emails, going into technical details and being actually helpful.

> FastMail support has been great

Seconded, failing only when up against tricky issues like insecurity of their so-called secure Masked Email.

I’m a heavy user of masked emails from Fastmail. Can you expound on the insecurity you mentioned?

I’ve tried replacing my modal components with the <dialog> element, but had to reverse everything due to this issue: https://github.com/whatwg/html/issues/9936

In short: you can’t have an interactive popover (e.g. a toast notification) on top of a dialog modal.

I’d love to use the new native elements but we’re sadly not quite there yet.

One CSS tip: make sure the input fields have a minimum font-size of 16px. That way iOS won’t zoom-in the page when focussing one.

Opening it in private tabs should help, at least on iOS.

Perhaps https://zorin.com/os/ might be a nice distro for your customers. It has 2 UI options: one that is close to macOS and one that looks more like Windows.

I’ve been having the same idea for a while. I think it would be a great way to let them prioritize the stability a bit more by publicly displaying how shamefully the UI behaves.

Interested in collaborating on this? Perhaps a simple open-source static blog built with Astro?
