Only works when you have money lying around

Anti science and anti intellectualism are getting confused with being woke and anti establishment.

Not surprised at all at this result.

That is a portion of the problem, but there are many other factors. I believe the cost of tuition has become a large factor lately. Also, the quest for knowledge has been replaced with a quest for a degree purely for monetary gain and status.

> It also follows his own "fibonacci web design" style

Didn't know there was a style called that. Nice find.

I heard a bunch of big name U.S. Web designers reimplemented his fibonacci site style, and took all the credit... ;-)

Maybe Linus can also present the idea to them. Since he's now a shareholder and possibly their most popular owner.

Thanks. Seems to be back for me.

That's actually a pretty good strategy and I am inclined to try it.

Someone just convinced you to voluntarily watch more ads.

I sympathize with small creators and sites that rely on these kinds of money and are not obtrusive. It's just a test though. I will probably be back on adblocker by default.

You can selectively turn it off for sites that you like. I have mine turned off for the local news blog which is pretty good and I like to support it.

This is one technology that I will regret in my later life that it didn't come soon enough.

I knew what xkcd it was just by looking at the link. Lol

That's because people whip it out constantly and almost always where it's not appropriate. It's pretty rare that anyone tries to enact a new standard. So, instead we see this comic use to downplay every time that anyone does anything resembling anything that has ever been done before. Which is to say: to downplay everyone else's efforts. It has long gone past being funny to just being dismissive in it's widespread use.

Yeah, it seems like it shows up any time a standard is suggested, which is taking a two sentence premise and ignoring 2/3 of it.

No two countries are alike.
