I was going to comment this same thing until I saw yours. I miss degaussing... Especially after holding a magnet to the CRT to get it to display fun colors it wasn't meant to and crossing your fingers that the degauss would fix the damage you'd wrought.
Regarding the honeypot allegations, I'm guessing they're referring to the connections between 4chan's founder, Christopher Poole, aka "moot", and Jeffrey Epstein:
/pol was made in October 2023 after a meeting between moot and Epstein. 4chan may not have been a honeypot but it’s likely that /pol was influenced heavily by Epstein/Maxwell which indicates a plausible link between/pol and Mossad aligned Intel activities at least.
Sure. Epstein/Mossad/CIA was not likely involved in the creation of the Chan. But the creation of /pol apparently in response to moot meeting Epstein (and follow-up meetings) as well as Maxwell’s alleged “janitor” status on the board are both deeply suspicious at least.
BTW someone should probably check in on moot once in a while to see if he’s ok lol. Strange bedfellows and all that.
I see you are not familiar with the far left lol. What passes for left in the USA is the tip of the left iceberg. The leftmost edge of the identity politics in USA is a funny cartoon version. OTOH, the Fox News right is adjacent to far right, but also misses it substantively, just not by as far.
There is much farther left than left-libs. The U.S. doesn't get anywhere near as left as it goes. MSNBC is center-left, at most. This is a very right wing country.
I do not agree. I think that Fox news is much farther right than MSNBC is left. Again, MSNBC is generally a cente left publication, in comparison to the entirety of the political spectrum. There might be outright Nazi Groypers farther to the left than Fox, bit they aren't far off nor do they disagree on much. Whereas a center left rag like MSNBC is outwardly hostile to actual socialist or communist ideologies, of which are essentially nonexistent inside the US, hence it being a right wing nation.

The operators of the phone system are consenting to the call being recorded by informing you that the call is being recorded. You are consenting to the call being recorded by continuing with the call.

If you and I are in a phone call (the target of the phone call located in a one-party consent jurisdiction), I can record it or you can record it without telling the other: that's one-party consent, because one of the parties of the call consents to it
At first glance that may sound pointless, but it means a third party outside the call (e.g. phone company) could not record it without one of us consenting
By notifying that the call is being recorded, that now can create two-party consent because you are still on the line (and thus implicitly agree to the recording, but as you and GGP point out that's not always considered consent enough) -- one-party consent would have been if the company on the other side of the line simply recorded the call without telling you
I'm sure some businesses are considering moving back to on-prem, but for many, I suspect the cost to find onboard, and pay the SMEs to keep those systems running well enough to not fail due to one reason or another isn't as appetizing to them as the ability to offload that work, along with the legal responsibility.
When something goes wrong, pointing the finger at someone else is far easier for most than pointing it at yourself.

They're entirely listener supported and the music they play is - to my knowledge - entirely human curated. I've found many tracks and artists new to me, with some artists not even having a presence (or a very small one) on Spotify.
Their curation is so good that they've become a significant resource I go to when seeking out new music. It feels like a warm hug from people who probably were also users of what.cd back in the day. Some of the humans who make up their team are the ones who play the music at DEF CON each year, so I take that as a good endorsement that they are well equipped to have good taste and be fellow music nerds - a compliment of the highest regard.
They're worth your time (and money, should you choose to donate).
Can confirm... Was flying back home and during a layover in Mumbai I grabbed some food from the food court. It was only after having sat down and eaten most of my food when I noticed that there were pigeons roosting directly above where my meal was purchased from, with their poop stains dribbling down the raised walls directly above the food. That was a particularly rough set of flights back home, but I lucked out and had a fairly empty flight for one leg of it that offered a full row of empty seats for me to lay down in and disassociate from the pain on.
(for anyone who is unaware, the airports - the ones I passed through, at least - in India are fairly open air, so birds were a common sight within them)
