What was Bill gates bitching about JS? Did he plan to push VB script instead?

Netscape had market dominance at the time so Internet Explorer had to keep bug-for-bug compatibility with Netscape to keep up. Given the amount of bugs and the lack of documentation of JS, this must have been quite frustrating for MS who was used to calling the shots.

> Bill Gates was bitching about us changing JS all the time

Emphasis mine

MS had licensed JavaScript – and, of course, their implementation was incompatible (at least in certain parts).

Hey I see you are interested in spotlight and 78 other things and your ip belongs to fortune 1k. May be you should buy the sentry enterprise license. Just my ads. I work on martech.

Also you don't need a database You can maintain a transaction log and few btree indexes to get the job done.

Why does he need to raise? World's richest person can't invest in it himself?

Never bet your own money if you don’t have to.

Because, people on hackernews are interested more in the prompt engineering. Convenience and satisfaction 》5 minutes of git pull and make

Agreed - and ultimately, you start removing the need to have a git app and git knowledge to pull and compile... it's not just 5 minutes, but you open up the market to way more people. Now, ideally it should just be as installing an app, but it's a good step in that direction.

YouTube is full of shit videos with similar titles. Mainly inspired by MrBeast. Kids are willing to daredevil acts just to get video views inspired by that idiot dumb face.

I spent 7 days buried alive I survived 7 months in Antarctica. I got haunted by military. ..

I spent 41 years on the same planet in this awesome VR game, and it isn't even No Man's Sky.

What is this? LLM summary about blog about LLM tech?

Employees care about their share value$. That worked well with Altman raising big rounds.

2 reasons it's not practical.

Storage is cheap, but compute isn't. Encoding is lot of compute and losing data by abusing TOS not worth the risk.

Eh, I consider computing a pretty minimal expense for long-term storage that I always throw my shit through zopfli before stuffing them on my NAS or uploading them to S3.

If you want to download them all

curl http://benjaminmayo.co.uk/scripts/apple-tv-screensavers.json | jq .[].assets[].url | xargs wget

I specifically don't give instructions for this as the copyright of these videos is unclear.

jq?

presumably a jquery CLI tool
