In this thread there is a lot of both "you should use this", and "you shouldn't use this". In the end, everyone should evaluate the options for themselves and use what works best for them.

I disagree. Just today I had headache again because of a legacy jQuery-based codebase. The jQuery version is so old, it is a security risk. A pure JavaScript codebase updates itself with each new browser release, so to say.

So my verdict: "you shouldn't use jQuery"

This is the same nonsense that Apple does with their 18+ censor wall of any apps that can access the internet.

Rather than hardcoded exceptions, they should train the model to recognise when someone is attempting a harmful prompt.

Is this only TOTP, or will WebAuthn also be implemented?

Yes, only TOTP right now. At some stage we will get to WebAuthn - we're working our way through the "table-stakes" features first.

You're doing great things! I follow your progress with excitement.

according to the link it's currently only TOTP but WebAuthn is "up next"

It was only a matter of time, I can't believe anyone fell for this. As soon as he started banning "parodies" of himself this was the only logical next escalation.

This is a great article, but C is full of ways to easily make mistakes with memory. I think with rust being more mature everyone should consider using it, or another memory safe language, instead of starting to write new programs using C.

He has to have known about ActivityPub, but with bluesky and now this he seems determined to create a competing standard. Reminds me of that XKCD comic.

I do! Glad to see SmugMug trying to restore Flickr to its original glory.

This is a really good read, I only wish they covered more about open source as that is in conflict with their conclusion around software being capital.

Tailscale has been so great at all the tools they build and release upon tailscale itself. The real magic here is magicdns which is where all the heavy lifting is being done.
