Dutch AI would just demand a 3 day workweek.

Spanish AI would require all AI systems to pause for 2 hours after lunch hour

Actually all those people go to Dubai to SPEND the money. They still make the money in America, Australia and Europe.

An important footnote on the economy of Dubai.

People decry this as socialism but remember that gated communities with security guards also cost money.

Whenever I get angry about 40 percent of my paycheck going to the government I try to make a list of countries that are better and it's not a long list.

where do you think all our money comes from?

> The economic growth and so-called advanced economies (think Germany, The U.S, Japan, etc. What's been referred to as the “Global North”) relies by a large proportion on a significant net appropriation of resources and labor from the “Global South” (think Kenya, Peru, the Philippines, etc). This appropriation reaches astronomical levels. In 2015 alone, the north appropriated 12 billion tons of embodied raw material equivalents, 822 million hectares of embodied land, 21 exajoules of embodied energy, and 188 million person-years of embodied labor; worth [a total] $10.8 Trillion in northern prices. Enough to end extreme poverty 70x over.

The West steals $10-$12 Trillion/yr in embodied raw material equivalents, embodied land, embodied energy, and embodied labour.

I am interested to see how Tesla is going to drive in Dutch cities.

I will give car makers the benefit of the doubt: it is difficult to simulate real traffic. You can't do real life tests with teenagers on bicycles.

Yeah it's cool if you're driving from Alice Springs to Darwin.

Honestly I think we are already passed that.

Religious crazies have taken over Israel and they simply don't value the lives of non Jews. They want those poor citizens gone for more Semitic Lebensraum.

Providing healthcare isn't your employer's job it is something that comes from the government.

It is the original sin of the American healthcare system.

America was on the road to socialism from the 1930s to the 1950s but it all went to shit and here we are: back in the Gilded Age.

It was never on the road to socialism.

Social benefits doesn’t have anything to do with socialism

Yep I myself changed my holiday plans from Tokyo to a nice Greek villa. Because I know that ticket prices for Asian flights will skyrocket. That's how scarcity is dealt with: raising prices.

Long term the government will have to look into reshoring some refineries I suppose.

Why would China fight the Philippines over Taiwan?

They wouldn't need to, China wants the South China Sea and doesn't respect borders.

Another 3 years to go I think?

God it already feels like a century.

Because the next one won’t bend the knee to Israel.
