After Bernie’s Bros have run out of other’s money, they’ll run out of other country’s gold.

Yes, there are no solutions, only trade offs.

I believe procreation is the highest impact a human can achieve.

The result of 14 billion years of cosmic evolution, a thermodynamic miracle, the waking universe looking back on itself.

Imagine what we can achieve when robots can do the laundry and dishes.

> Imagine what we can achieve when robots can do the laundry and dishes.

First, you mean like clothes washers and dishwashers, which already exist?

Second, my imagination of what we can achieve by procreation seems limited to "more humans". A trillion humans? A quadrillion humans? Enlighten me.

Get back to us when Canada cuts its 300% tariff on butter.

Rather he was fired because his research was irrelevant.

In any case there are millions of US activists that will advise you about anthropogenic global warming for free, just ask them.

> US activists that will advise you about anthropogenic global warming for free

Yeah but they won't give actual data on how this specifically affects geopolitics

The meeting he had proves he was fired for not scrubbing away facts.

POV: You produce crash statistics for every street corner in your country, but your government prioritizes genocide.

Your data is irrelevent.

AI and robots don’t refute the Socialist Calculation Debate.

Get back to us with your proposal to genetically modify human nature.

Hopefully by then we’ll still be allowed to vote it down.

Is it human nature or the way we've evolved that's the problem? Either way, most of the history of power has involved influencing the mass of humans to dedicate themselves to production while the small group that controls the narrative reaps the bulk of the gains. We stopped having revolutions because the distribution is equitable enough to stay below the trigger point, but the framework is still deeply rooted in our 'nature'.

So the real question is not whether the economy will collapse when you take away fictional concepts like money. It's whether we can live without hierarchy. Probably not, IMO.

Published in the paywalled NYT.

“Instead, a new consensus has emerged in the press, but perhaps especially at this paper [NYT] that truth isn’t a process of collective discovery, but an orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else.” - Bari Weiss

It all sounds too hard, just send the robots to build ringworlds at habitable distances.

Fantastic! This will tie up the hapless far-left democrats chasing their tails, squandering their donors money, advancing their Marxist capture, rendering them unelectable.

I suspect deploying AGI in US agriculture is more of an existential crisis for tin pot socialist kleptocracies that rely on remittances from exported labour.

Eh, like drugs, the US is addicted to cheap imported labor.

Like cartels and imported hard drugs, ‘tin pot socialist kleptocracies dependent on exported resources (including people)’ and ‘abused and underpaid immigrant underclass’ are two hands clapping together.

Surely all the illegal Nicaraguans will want to go home now.
