SFBags.com (redirects) have amazing vertical laptop sleeves. Just add D-rings and a strap and you’re set! I’ve loved mine for over 15 years and counting.

Fits in small and larger bags as needed too.

Good teacher. He really seems to care.

About what, I have no idea.

Prove to me that it's not perfectly random.

It is perfectly random for some distributions

And it's big-O of zero time. The solution is already there.

It’s better with the comment

How is this not illegal?

The Burrito Supreme Court said that they and no other are the sole arbiter of what constitutes an "official act" by The President. And, that he is immune from prosecution for "official acts". Congress has simultaneously abdicated lawmaking and has decided to let the president make policy via executive orders. I think most people have forgotten E.O.s are merely directives to the executive branch departments about how to implement the laws congress passes. Or, at least they were. Now apparently they're royal decrees.

It’s certainly illegal. I believe the law allows administrative fees, etc to cover costs. It doesn’t authorize fees as a source of income.

But who would have standing to challenge someone else’s visa in court? Maybe existing people trying to get a green card? Or other immigration rights activists?

If the (Republican) president does it, it's not illegal.

You cant be arrested for white collar crime in America. Getting charged with a crime is for poor people only

When the Department of Justice has been taken over by sycophants and the Supreme Court has surrendered, nothing is illegal for Trump.

s/Trump/Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho/g

I used many words earlier to express just this. If only I were so elegant and concise.

Except Camacho was actually trying to make things better.

Learn ASP or VBA and embrace true suffering

ASP could be written in JScript and was the OG JavaScript SSR.

In some ways, easier to understand and better than anything we have now.

I maintain a playlist/mixtape here for fun that doesn't rely on Spotify - just YouTube but with a very different audio focused UI

I just logged in on the iOS app and it immediately had a popup giving me the option to opt-out.

So yeah, annoying, but they handled it well.

Agreed. I actually want and need Claude and other LLMs to learn from my interactions with them. Exceedingly frustrating that LLMs do not yey hold a longterm memory or embedded trace of conversations per user. I have been asking Anthropic for this option as an opt-in for 6 months.

Sure, I understand the concerns many if you have.

But in my niche areas of cognitive research, genetics, and neurophilosophy I need Claude to be much smarter than it is now. I am happy to share what I know with Anthropic so that zi eventually have a better companion thinker.

If they used a sans-serif font then they would have nailed it

That and the overlapping silkscreen hurt to see, but otherwise a super cool project. Although they're very minor things that don't technically matter, it can give off certain impressions to people.

Not nearly as tasteful as Paul Allen's card.

disagree, a nice serif font is more distinctive with most of everything using a very tight cluster of boring sans-serif fonts.

In that case I will add that this particular serif font was also a poor choice out of the variety of serif fonts out there.

I sort of like it. Looks like a Neon Genesis Evangelion episode card

Installation is the first step, then you must enable it.

If you go to safari settings and enable it there, then you are using it.

And then am I using it if I'm loading the extension by interacting with it? Because simply enabling it will not give it access to the webpage.

loading a page will

Bizarrely when I do that it tells me “uBO Lite is not supported by this version of Safari”.

On an iPhone 13 with the latest version of iOS.

I’m very new to the Apple ecosystem so it could well be that it’s meant to work on a laptop/desktop rather than the mobile version.

I could of course be wrong: does anybody know better? Or is it a case of me being frazzled after work?

EDIT: some users have suggested upgrading to iOS 18.6 solves this problem. Doing it as we speak!

… and you are in what country/region?

Germany/Europe, not available for me.

Also not available in Austria

Bulgaria/Europe - also not available

"AccuWeather is excited to share important updates"

Yes. Yes, I'm sure you are.

Such corporate speak reminds me of “the values of the Carphone Warehouse”:

"excited" and "designed to elevate your experience" is such a weird way to put this. They are introducing more monetization options, which is their right to do. But different monetization options and discontinuation of a free-tier does not elevate anyone's experience.

That's like the old saying that when a company starts its message with "In order to serve you better...", what they really mean is "Bend over and assume the position."
