You should never leave VMware management ports open to the internet.
I suggest you install a Windows XP, Win Server inside the virtual, turn on the "automatic start up" on that VM, just after you the automatic start up of your virtual FW and use RDP with a 2 factor authentication (duo security is free and works beautifully), which now is you "management" machine.

I totally agree with you. I did that when I had physical access to my own servers. What do you if the firewall doesn't come up? That's my worry now that I don't have direct access to the servers. Won't you end up being locked out?
Well... I worked at a company that tried to implement OpenERP for managing the Back-End operations of an E-Commerce business.
Too many bus to fix, even on core. Money that was supposed to be used in new functionality development was spent paying partners to fix issues we found.
Moved to Tryton ( http://www.tryton.org/en/ ), which is a lot more pythonic, a lot more concise and follows standards, including PEP8 and company still Tryton today.
Financials and forecasting with OpenERP can be a mess, specially when you get users that are used with quickbooks.
Check Tryton ( http://www.tryton.org/en/ ). I am sure you will like it. There are a bunch of modules that also install as python modules, virtualenv support, PostgresSQL, clear development roadmap and much more. Do you think this would be possible with video as well, like making sure everybody is at the same point on a video ?
We host the PDFs on AmazonS3, and use PDJ.js to render them on the page. To keep everyone on the same page, we use websocket events via Pusher.
Video would be quite different, so we don't have any plans for that now.
framebench.com does this for video, PDF and images.. syncs pan and zoom position as well. In private beta, collecting some great feedback for now :)
