I think my similar image search engine can boost your company growth. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12777317

I don't buy that argument.

I would pay for an Ubuntu that runs flawlessly and supports more software.

Both RHEL and Canonical already offer that kind of support.

Specifically for Ubuntu: http://www.canonical.com/enterprise-services/ubuntu-advantag...

I think you like a few others represent a small segment. Of the consumers willing to use Red Hat, those who would pay is even less. Enterprise is a much bigger piece of the already small pie.

We could give you a number of introductions/matches for free and if you want more, like 20 introductions to iPhone developers you would have to pay for it.

How are you vetting people, to make sure I'm not introduced to a loser who will send me spam?

1.) We only introduce you to Investors if you told us that you want to be introduced to investors. That's the first layer.

2.) We will prefer people who have mutual friends, many friends and live nearby.

3.) We are thinking about a curation/application feature where people get a score or are voted about to become introduced.

4.) We can't protect you from spam 100%

That's a good reply. Number 3 might work really well.

Very nice

We haven't found a niche that may be suited better. We'll likely pivot to something else.

Yeah, maybe we'll apply for the next YC class.

I wrote about our failed idea in another comment

A few months when it was just a little side project and then 6 weeks fulltime. We only burnt 6 weeks of salaries.

Berlin

Meet with VCs, Business Angels, Founders, etc. for some months regularly and keep them updated about your startup, maybe work with them on a project, do some freelancing for them or become an employee at their company. Then they get to know you and your skills. Then pitch them an idea that gets them exicted that they themselves can understand. Something in their space.

Consider applying for YC's Summer 2025 batch! Applications are open till May 13
