Working is not just about work, we're spending a good amount of our time with our colleagues. I cannot imagine me sitting alone in a room, working every day 8 hours for 10-20 years and never meet anyone in my team. All the team building, get a smoke together, off-work activities... are gone. Sounds scary like a chapter in Black Mirror.

In theory you would be trading hanging out with your coworkers for hanging out with your friends, you neighbors, others in your community + a lesser commute. You would definitely lose some and gain some, the question is whether that gain would outweigh the loss. For some people, their lives are organized around work (makes sense, mine defiantly is) so it would be a big shift.

couple of years ago when I first saw the Magic Leap, it's kind of magical to me, their tech is great and they advertised it to do big things to help the world (aquarium or 3d painting, I don't remember exactly what it was) Last year when re-visited their website and see their showcase with Spotify and NBA sport, I was very letdown. Why do I need VR app for Spotify? Why do they think it's importance to do something like that instead of make a bold product. So disappointed.

It's not that evil. The first time used AWS, I really enjoyed the power and easy to set up the whole system from scratch everything (network, servers....) If it's on-premise, it'd cost a ton of effort of a lot of ppl. AWS is not that's hard, the console + UI is user friendly and they have a great document site so you don't really need to get these AWS's certs (I had one about 3-4 years and honestly the information in these tests are not helpful, rarely 1 people need to remember a lot of details in 20+ services of amazon, whenever you want to use one just start reading document about it). A new service from AWS - that's great. At least that is a new option for end user.
