That comment makes more sense if you read it as referring to popping boba [0] rather than the "normal" chewy tapioca boba. Grapes don't pop but the feel of the skin is similar enough.

I think you're overstating this. My understanding is that here in GB (unsure about NI) fully automatic firearms are absolutely prohibited with only limited exceptions that the general public are typically ineligible for. Could you elaborate?
If you run a gun club where people can safely fire fully-auto weapons in a controlled environment, you are allowed to own them and supervise people firing them.
This is not an easy or inexpensive thing to set up.
I shot a documentary about a guy doing just that in NE Scotland, about 20 years ago, and while his range is still in business I don't think he has ever cleared the tape for redistribution - it was a "here's what you spent your money on" for the investors.
Some people (myself included) are quite attached to cooking with gas. Induction seems to be the best alternative and doesn't require non-renewable fuel.
Frankly it's a total non-issue because you now have your train ticket on a mobile app on a mobile device with synchronized internet time anyway. Most people are wearing mechanical watches today as jewellery and a physical piece of craftsmanship that's nice to keep time that's directionally correct, but if it's out by 30seconds it's no big deal and you just reset it against the time on your phone and get on with your day.
I still use paper tickets and many others do too! At any rate though, I agree. It doesn't matter to me that my mechanical watch is often out by 30 seconds. I don't mind checking and adjusting it every now and then so it's never off by ±5 minutes where it would cause problems for me.
