I've been using Vivaldi for a little over a year now and I love it! The best browser (except for their tiny bookmarking popup) and this only makes it better. Looking forward to seeing how this grows!

They make decent products, and this announcement is interesting, but for some reason their Chrome browser skin is terrible for me. I feel like it's slow compared to other Chrome reskins (Edge, Brave, etc).

To each their own.

what do you like about it in comparison to chrome and firefox?

Not op but for me is left side tab bar, east screenshots and mobile browser sync.

have you tried mobile browswer sync with other browswers?

This is awesome! I've been recording myself (video/audio) for the last couple years on and off (thousands of hours) and have no efficient way of processing the info. Was not aware of Whisper and what he's done is exactly what I'm looking to pull off.

The GPT-3 idea is scary and most certainly the future. I can't stand the world of never ending 'Moviefone' menus and chatbots, but when it's me that gets to be the machine response the future doesn't seem so annoying. Would be nice to have my own GPT-3 model that I can use to "get to a real person" when calling places.

Seems like something Alotta Fagina would post.

I LOLEd

“For years, Google prioritized profit over the privacy of people who use Google products and services. Consumers thought they had turned ‘off’ their location tracking features on Google, but the company continued to secretly record their movements and use that information for advertisers.”

Cool story, bro. How much of that $392M is going to consumers who were actually harmed? Likely, zero. These kinds of breaches need to be criminal not civil penalties otherwise there need to be actual claimants not just Attorney Generals looking for a pay day.

For one thing the amount of money is just way too small.

The fact these people don't realize this kind of behavior is unacceptable is ironic considering they've been censoring everyone else's for years.

As long as you know it's unacceptable then it makes standing up an act of bravery. If you think it's dunk-on-the-man time because of groupthink and collective disdain then you'll likely be surprised by the consequences.

If you look at his profile and some of the other replies he did it's clear he wanted to get fired.

Someone from Reddit also offered him a job* and seemed understanding of what he did.

Just more scamming that will be overlooked cause the right people get paid. It's always that way.

The economy must be separated from the government the same way religion was if we are to ever have true economic freedom and self-determination.

Gen Z are born after the Millennium. Millennials are born before the turn of the .... wait for it... Millennium.

Not sure what editors and publishing houses are trying to push this Gen Z narrative, but it's just not true.

Not a single Gen Z is in Congress yet. Generations are subjective and we can't let these people cement a fucked up incongruency into our culture cause they think it's politically beneficial.

Born in 1997 around when most folks consider Generation Z to have begun.

"Most folks" - no. Most folks take the plain meaning for what a Millennial is and don't give a damn what the media is trying to corrupt in our cultural conscious.

Most folks – yes. By your definition Donald Trump is a millennial because… wait for it… he was born before the turn of the… waaaaaait for it… millennium.

Language often evolves in seemingly unintuitive ways (e.g. lunch), there's no "corrupt in our cultural conscious" going on. Someone born in the early 80s is going to have much less in common (especially in terms of technology) with someone born in the late 90s. By 1997 the oldest millennials were starting to have kids who would very clearly not belong under the heading "millennial".

It wasn't a definition it was a clarification on a limit. Your bad faith engagement is just argumentative.

If you truly think the 2 year exclusion of 1998 and 1999 is necessary for Zoomers to be properly categorized then you'll have to provide more than simply the argument that some Millennials were past puberty. The youngest Gen Xers will still graduating high school in 1997. Please stop being argumentative because you see an opportunity to confront someone using sarcasm.

What the ever loving fuck are you on about?

> Gen Z are born after the Millennium.

According to a quick search of various sources, Gen Z starts from 1997 as the article states, not after the millennium.

Gen Z is in the news cos they're starting to cement their power as the largest voting bloc, taking over from the baby boomers.

Yes, I'm well aware of what the "sources" are saying and it's bullshit mindfucking on a grand scale. Another, as I said, incongruency to create cultural confusion.

Generations are subjective. Gen Z is only 22 years old at this point. That's it.

> Yes, I'm well aware of what the "sources" are saying and it's bullshit mindfucking on a grand scale

You have other "sources", that you're of course willing to list?

Of course I do. Mine. That's how subjective delineations work. But, you're welcome to simply accept what "Millennial" implies instead of just allow yourself to be spoon fed some idea that a 2 year difference is necessary in defining Millennials from Zoomers.

I aggree this is some nonsense perpetuated by self serving blow hards who build nothing but narratives.

Effective Altruism is basically modern chivalry and it's advocates want to be the new Nobility.

Interesting how the contemporary publications cited were authored during WW2 yet only a few years earlier Russia intentionally perpetuated the Holodomor. The Hunger Plan sounds more like Russian propaganda spun by assets in the West.
