yes the author has taken it way out of context. imagine if auto manufacturers produced MVP vehicles without seatbelts etc.

you can't justify going to war with a country just because they refuse to extradite an individual. that is what a bully does.

well it's not simple, because that would mean more taxes for the rich developed countries.

their whole agenda is to deflect blame and costs to developing countries.

it's not just upfront cost, but the practical costs of using coal is much lower than having to set up a solar infrastructure.

it's just a few weeks of leaders making soft promises to save the environment so they can tick off a box and not have to deal with it the next few years. i think everyone is over the charade.

well if you want to dine in a fancy restaurant and shop and hang around in a plush suburb, how can you expect the blue collar workers keeping everything running to have to commute 2 hours for your convenience?

imagine have issues with 10 apps you bought on your iphone. having to go through 10 developer's refund process is a nightmare. I would rather just go through apple.

if Apple wanted money I'm sure they could've struck a deal with FB just like how they made a pact with Google to put them as a default search engine.

What would they have made FB into? Default social network? Google provides a value addition for most people which is better search results than its competitors and they keep paying Apple for the privilege of being the default search engine. Facebook provides no such "value". There is no such thing as the best social media app. Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, Reddit, Hackernews etc provide different services to people.

you can see superficial veins with infrared lights anyway.

i don't see what AI is included in this, and none specified on their website. not sure why you put it in the title.

Presumably VeinViewer and TrueView use computer vision to highlight the issues talked about to notify the doctor or nurse.

It's not just finding veins, but detecting potential complications in real time which is the value add. Since it says ai powered leds, different frequencies and intensities are probably used in sequences useful for different possibilities.

Then again, if human inspection is just as good with detection with a high resolution infrared camera and leds, it could make a little niche where you sell ChespHumanView hardware as a replacement.

> Then again, if human inspection is just as good with detection with a high resolution infrared camera and leds, [...]

Yeah, but afaik it just isn't, so this would be in that way really useful for a lot of people working those kind of jobs

> i don't see what AI is included in this

Yeah, I also had my doubts, but basically it's for people whose veins are so covered by fat that you can't just easily spot them

Yea not sure what the overreaction to China is. Any foreign power is a threat- but I'd rather the enemy you know, than a friend who would (and have a record of) stabbing you in the back.
