if you want to live in my house, and within the safe and comfortable legal framework of tenancy in a property lease contact, then you have to pay competitive market rates to live there.

"Pay your fair share" to the "rent seekers" if it is a place to live that you are seeking...

This falls apart when the rent seeker refuses to sell, or prices the sale out of the reach of first time buyers.

I can't square a landlord running empty properties when the economy colludes to keep people from buying properties.

Homes should not be straight up financial instruments.

you could bypass all the bull and get a far better outcome by simply tying the salary of every member of Congress to the median income. One day people will realize how important it is to hold their representatives accountable and hopefully make it happen.

are we really pretending this isn't just the mass surveillance machine roaring back to life?

Are we really pretending that it ever stopped?

I guess you can say it was because they didn't go all in on renewable energy but you can also say they weren't prepared for the inevitable result of the renewable regime's agenda. https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=37814

you mean get into the fictional entertainment business?

the crime here is county officials engaging in literal economic repression. It's not a matter of when the government orders whatever is says this week.

The fact of the matter is that if a business feels it's time to reopen, it should do so, cautiously of course.

Neither the employees or customers are forced to go. They have a right to refuse. They don't have a right to dictate what others decide to do with their business

procrastination is also the reason I'm here

over a year ago, the rapid fire, almost daily updates to their android app had given me the suspicions that their operating expenses would be too much to remain humble for long, then came the notifications and social media posts inviting me to come read the paywall articles. I'm not against paying for access with subscription, as I have a few, as well as a healthy list of creators on Patreon but I feel it's kinda like YouTube profiting massively from user generated content. I know they aren't in it for fun, just saying it's been obvious for a while now

the trick is to brush the grill before it gets hot. you can always rinse the gunk out of your grill brush but you can't un-melt the plastic that keeps the brisles attached. Give it a quick second brushing after it's heated up, if you want. Since it is already mostly clean, you don't spend as much time loosening/melting your brush. I figured this out when I found one of those bristles on some ribs I made. Fortunately, it was before I put it in my mouth.
