To run space programs they'll need money. Even with resources they have running both war and space programs will lead to catastrophic consequences. But I suspect that's exactly the way they'll choose.

For the time being, the West has been supplying Putin's troops with plenty of money (taxes from selling natural resources go into the federal budget, which is used to fund the military, and therefore the war). They made record profits last year.

IDK about gas, but the price cap on Russian oil is lower than what Russians need to break even. They are now losing money on each exported barrel, but IIRC they can't just stop the production; the wells would become unusable.

Of course, the price cap is only in force since December 2022, so the effects haven't fully shown themselves yet.

Where do you get that information about profitability? According to BBC [0] back in 2019 expenses per barrel was $25 before taxes. Obviously sanctions make everything more expensive (hardware, extraction, transport, insurance), but not that expensive.

If selling oil was unprofitable Putun would just burn it instead of selling it at loss just like they burned natural gas for $10,000,000 / day for months.

'ideal time' to do that. Lets see what others will do.

I did to Azure and Cloudflare. 0 responses. No one cares.

Disappointing! Thanks for the reply.

I've seen similar stuff in Publishing (news) and another big (popular) company at that time. Yes, Ru/Cn are not the only one, but if you work in security this is just one problem less to solve if you have those banned.

Silly question, but do you supplement Zinc? I've had something similar in yong age. I think it was fixed by Immune globulin injection. Yeah, I know it's strange, but for some reason it worked. Lately I've noticed that this stuff can come back if my immune system depressed. Sleep + Zinc usually helps.

Well I would say not directly, some of my supplements have Zinc, but that is as far as it went.

I and my immediately family, all of suffer from forms of Thalassemia ranging from mild, to severe. I have a form called Beta Thalassemia Minor, if it affects my immune system.

If you're looking eagerly to replace human support with searches of someone from CF on HN to help... why not.

Read about 'Neutron Jack', this is what is happening just in way smaller scale for each company... at least for now.

If russia is so sanctions proof and it's so easy why no one want's to be on that side. Well, I think it's because russia's economy goes down. And this will be happening for years to come. Who will be buying their weapons now when it's clear it's mostly ussr garbage? Look what happens with Urals price. If you think they're ok you have no idea what's happening inside.

It's the second largest arms exporter. You need to stop measuring everything in USD value. Turkey ditched the US air defence for S-400s even at the price of getting sanctioned in return. That's NATO's second largest army by far.

From what I see most of the world that matters outside of Europe has ignored the sanctions on Russia. Even Japan which often acts as the US's chess piece, decided to hold off despite their rhetoric and is silently rolling back their sanctions. Israel announced a realignment with Russia after the last elections and Israel arguably has the worlds most powerful security apparatus. India already told the west they won't play along despite all the bullying that happened in the beginning. China has been increasing their cooperation more and more even though in the beginning they were very careful with their support.

These aren't the actions of countries that think Russia is in a losing position. Nobody worth a dime thinks that Russia's economy is going down. Even The Economist, one of the most pro Ukrainian newspapers has admitted that much to their regret, Russia's economy is ALREADY rebounding.

Meanwhile the US is paying the Ukrainian politics and military's salaries, because Ukraine has no economy left and it basically defaulted a while back with a restructuring announced shortly after.

Greek shipping literally still mixes Russian oil and resells it to Europe. Although everyone is eager to see what will happen to it in the near future

> These aren't the actions of countries that think Russia is in a losing position

Quite the opposite. When sharks smell blood, there’s a feast. Or as investors would say, when things are down, there’s a good deal to be made.

Russia's economy does not rebound. There is no grow in Russia.

NATO is so dangerous. That's why Finland and Sweden so eager to join it.

After my last change things got even worse. Well... except $$$. But it was promising in the beginning.

Letting go of a high paying job can be really hard. Those golden handcuffs really work. I know a few Googlers that would love to 'break free' but their life style won't let them.
