GitHub | Fullstack (Javascript / Ruby on Rails) | Remote Europe (Netherlands, Germany, UK, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland) / US East coast | Full Time

You know what GitHub is, so I'm skipping the intro. We're the Notifications team, we power https://github.com/notifications and we're looking for new colleagues both senior and non-senior. We have some very interesting platform and product challenges we want to tackle this year. We're looking for engineers with a Fullstack mindset but with experience in either Ruby on Rails or Javascript (React).

You can read more about the role here and apply directly https://boards.greenhouse.io/github/jobs/2543304

If you have questions, please send an email to acadavid (at) github.com

I don't understand this industry anymore. If I have anything to say about software is that solving the right problems is the main skill in an Engineer. Then, figuring out an algorithm is the hard part of solving any problem, turning it into code is usually never as hard (except for technical nuances) and especially, not how quickly it becomes code. Not sure how someone can value "how fast can you turn algorithm into code" over "understanding/solving the right problem".

If you're interested, please send me your CV / Github to alejandro@wakoopa.com with a short motivation note on why we should hire you!

Try avoid putting the word remote in your listing if you aren't remote friendly.

Ah damn, sorry, didn't realize the whoishiring.io will pick it up as such. Unfortunately in this thread you see often people asking the same question, but i should have clarified in a reply. Thanks.

I don't know how successful this public effort can be, but I think it's the first time I see a company using a long-form sales letter to find investors. I'd love to read an update from the people behind the company once they're done with their fund-raising and see what the results of doing this were vs. traditional fundraising.

MiCarga cofounder here. We wanted to tell our story, in a format that suited our position right now. It is an experiment, and we are fully aware that it may not be the right format for every investor. Regardless, we wanted a space to tell our story in more detail, and start better conversations with the right investors.

PS: We will update everyone in our progress.

Hi! This is an experiment we decided to run since we want to get this out to as many people as we can. Our network of investors is mainly based in LatAm and it's too small so this is our way of getting it out to the public.

It's long and detailed because we're tired of "elevator pitches", we want interested people to know as much as they can about our company and what we're aiming for. We feel this is more responsible (you as an investor know upfront what you're dealing with) and it's more time-efficient (we don't have to spend 20 minutes explaining what we do at the beginning of every call (that's actually BS, we still have to do this :P)).

You probably should check unblock-us.com

I'm in Colombian and that way i can watch Netflix, use Pandora and others.

Totally agree.
