Still better than nothing. It's no secret maintainers need to play catch-up with Microsoft. This is the entire value-add of all those cool pro-consumer/user tools which use private & undocumented APIs, like yt-dlp.
You're looking for Flux Kontext, a model you can run yourself offline on a high end consumer GPU. Performance and accuracy are okay, not groundbreaking, but probably enough for many needs.
I love that this is the only thing the community wants to know at every announce of a new model, but no organization wants to face the crude reality of human nature.
That, and the weird prudishness of most american people and companies.
My wife and I started a children’s jewelry business, and I’ve wanted to use AI to show children wearing our jewelry. Every time I try, I get either ridiculous results or hit some artificial censorship wall about making images with children.
I would really like to find a way to do this (either online or locally) if anyone has any tips for giving a model some images of real jewelry with dimensions (and if needed even photographed or generated children) and having the model accurately place the jewelry on the kids.
Because it is extremely time consuming (and expensive) to do that. The logistics are very challenging with finding a variety of child models, environments/studio, outfits, lighting, cameras, photo processing, etc...
And then you have to do it all over again every few months as the products and the seasons change!
I feel for the poor engineers who will have to triage thousands of false positives because $boss was pitched this tool (or one of the competitors) as the true™ solution to all their security problems.
OK, but that's a criticism better aimed at... every security testing tool produced previous to this one, most especially Burp, the Microsoft Word of pentesting and the single greatest source of bullshit bounty submissions for over a decade running.
The entire point of paying for an (indie) man-made game is the care and attention that went into it by passionate developers who wanted to convey a story.
The cheap, industrial, soulless output of LLMs is not something I care to consume.
I feel the same about AI vs human-generated content. This is more of an experimentation.
But the LLM is instructed to be as close to the author as possible.
Nonetheless the AI wave coming everywhere is hard to stop!
Gosh I so despise this new normal. Just when I thought I could fight bloat and unnecessary tech in my own tiny corner of the world, only for a few to ruin it with ridiculous LLM (ab)use.
