Any advice for aspiriing programmers? I work full-time and go to school part-time so finding time / motiviation to practice and learn is incredibly difficult most days.

This one is a no brainer. You can see people blatantly lie on social media about how amazing they are then run into them in the office and see them just as miserable as the rest of us. Kids are just going to believe whatever they see their favorite influencer do or whatever they say and this goes for everyone on their social media. It's just an echo chamber of anxiety, immediate dopamine release and unrealistic expecations of how the real world works. Wasn't there an article not too long ago about how they watched ONE video about suicide or something similar and tiktok just filled their page with suicide content? Anyone that gets fed the same thing over and over is eventually going to feel some sort of effect. A kid will feel the same but worse since the critial thinking skills arent all there yet.

I quit Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Never got in tiktok or any other social media. Our brains aren't mean to handle so much information at once. We can't parse it. We can't distinguish reality from fiction when we're constantly being told several things at once or youre being told a lie several times a day. I also can't stand that we can't just live our lives without having a company collect data to try and manipulate and / or sell me something. I understand that some people need social media but, if you can do without it...do it.

My computer was so old that I was able to log in on a local user account. After I upgraded, I couldnt believe that I had to stay online to use my computer. I messed with some settings and moved on. Then I right clicked and almost had a stroke.

Those text messages were enlightening. I wonder how many people will see this and take it into consideration next time they view a segment on fox.

People that only read Fox News will never hear about this.

I don't think people watch Fox for truth, integrity, open mindedness, being informed and such things. Rather the goal is validation, taking part in something, feeling in a certain way. So as long as Fox can keep the supply of these up, viewership won't decline significantly because of things like these text messages.
