I beg to differ, Linux is way more straightforward. Within each new Windows version they keep switching things around, adding layers upon layers and options within options within option that point back toward the initial options page, where you end up in a loop. The search function rarely finds the settings I want. Edge search results by default, including digital cancer such as Instagram, TikTok, et cetera, on the start menu by default.
Now too, for normal computer users who don't want to tweak their operating system and only need basic utilities, and are able to read and follow simple instructions, Linux has long become way more accessible than Windows.
Each iteration I dislike Telegram a bit more. It used to be the sleek "flagship killer" among chat software, but now it's slowly becoming bloatware. Their positive stance on pyramid schemes was were it all went downhill.
“I don't really want to deal with all the little annoyances anymore” and “I have zero issues with Windows” does not compute. Or are you running Windows XP/7?
I'm running EndevourOS (Arch), KDE Plasma 6 on X11 and rarely have issues. Wayland isn't nice to me though. And as long as XScreenSaver doesn't work on it I likely won't switch. The same for AutoKey, although Hawck seems to be an alternative (https://github.com/snyball/Hawck).
The first website is still more user-friendly, faster, and prettier than most of the Web today.

Also, when the Gopher->Gemini bridge gets ready, you will be able to browse UTF8 Gemini and web sites wth just Lynx and a dumb 386 with a relative modernish GNU/Linux, such as a minimal install of Delicate Linux. Add gemini://gemi.dev on top of that and even modern web will be at least article-(text) readable, such as Ars Technica, Wired and The Register.
And the bandwidth usage will be good for any user, too. No more data caps with tethered connections, gopher/gemini can be ridiculously small on bw.
With gemini://gemi.dev I could read news far away from a city, near train tunnels. The size of a web page was reduced from near a MB to few KBs.
