So much of the past decade has been the internet infecting the population with 19th century thinking like this. Alliances are a thing, and might makes right is something we have told ourselves for generations that we oppose. I am so tired of this nihilism dressed as edge.

This isn't "nihilism dressed as edge," this is political realism, and it is the framework under which our rivals operate wrt international relations.

Yes, alliances are a thing, and the framework fully accounts for these.

Google really knew what they were doing by hiring Marc Levoy. The Google camera is the only thing keeping me from getting something other than a pixel phone.

Google camera is not exclusive to Pixel.

It was ported[0] by enthusiasts to literary almost every Android phone. I have it on my $100 Xiaomi.

It's not censorship to concede a point in a civil debate or discussion. Republicans used to debate better than the other side back when I often voted for them. But there is no room for this in maga. It is simply willful ignorance or arguing in bad faith and it helps no one.

This is why I left Facebook and I'm sure it drove away many others.

Can you give an example of fraud that has been found by doge? If so it is to be commended, but I suspect they are just labelling stuff approved by congress and previous administrations fraud whenever they don't like it.

I can give an example. DOGE uncovered a plan to rebuild critical SSA infrastructure fraudulently and on an incredibly short timescale by giving it to the least competent people possible thanks to political nepotism [1].

You don't need examples when you have faith

SpaceX is worth less than 10% of what Tesla is valued at, so 15% is still a larger holding and very much "where it hurts". You should consider pausing before calling the popular position drivel.

I figured it was because he couldn't find a better car such as a 1986 volvo

This is such incredibly twisted logic. I would have honestly been aghast to see this on HN a few years ago, but now the site seems nearly as infected as Facebook or X with this.

An obvious alternative is to increase support to Ukraine to give them what they need to expel Russia. The good old USA has the resources to do that but Republicans have blocked increasing aid at the orders of Donald Trump for years now. And now that he is in power he is finally blocking it altogether.

Is your plan really to just let Russia have new territory whenever they want it? Why do you think this would save money or lives?
